Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

As a Metallurgical Testing Specialist, your duties will include:

  • Performing a variety of tests utilizing metallographic and mechanical methods, delivering results to both internal and external stakeholders with utmost quality.
  • Assisting in investigations across various sectors, including Forensic Metallurgy and Research & Development.
  • Maintaining adherence to industry standards and ensuring the retention of necessary accreditations.
  • Upholding Statistical Process Control (SPC) within your designated responsibilities.
  • Collaborating with Health and Safety teams to promote safe testing practices.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess an HNC level qualification or equivalent in Metallurgy/Materials, complemented by relevant experience in a steel production environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.

Demonstrated expertise in metallurgical evaluation/testing, including:

  • Grain Size Analysis
  • Cleanliness Assessment
  • Decarburization Evaluation

  • Types and Production of Etchants
  • Tensile Strength Testing
  • Hardness Testing
