Job Description

**Job Title:** Process Technician - Thermal Hydrolysis

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a skilled Process Technician - Thermal Hydrolysis to join our team at Thames Water. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Thermal Hydrolysis Process (THP) equipment, including monitoring, inspecting, and maintaining equipment, and reporting any defects to ensure swift repair or attempting a first-time fix where possible.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Operate and maintain THP equipment, including sludge digesters, boilers, high-pressure/temperature reactors, power generation plants, and other process equipment.
  • Conduct regular sampling and testing to ensure the plant operates efficiently and meets statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Gather performance data to optimize plant operations and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform safety and security checks, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with the wider site team to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.

**Requirements:**

  • Demonstrate confidence, flexibility, initiative, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of working with boilers and energy generation plants, or process equipment, such as pumps and gearboxes, is beneficial.
  • Be prepared to undergo training in safety procedures, including confined space entry and boiler operation accreditation.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills, and some computer data input or enquiry experience is desirable.
  • A full current driving license is essential for this role.
