Job Title: Dispute Resolution Solicitor

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dispute Resolution Solicitor to join our team at Winn Solicitors (Scotland) LLP. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of dispute resolution cases, including public liability, RTA, and employer liability claims.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maximise income per case through recovery of damages, including hire, repairs, recovery, and storage.
  2. Prepare and conduct cases thoroughly, ensuring the ingathering of all requisite evidence.
  3. Deliver exceptional client care in accordance with service level agreements.
  4. Report issues, problems, and compliance breaches in a timely manner to the appropriate level of management.
  5. Ensure compliance with information security policies, including data confidentiality and the operational security of information systems used.
  6. Perform ad hoc or additional duties as deemed fit and appropriate by the management team for this post and the associated level of responsibility.

Person Specification:
  1. Must be admitted in Scotland - Newly Qualified (NQ).
  2. Understanding of credit hire would be desirable.
  3. Court litigation experience, including an understanding of Court of Session and Sheriff Court procedures.
  4. In-depth drafting experience.
  5. Conduct hearings in the Sheriff Courts.
  6. Ability to deal with difficult clients, communicate effectively, and provide legal advice in relation to their claim.
  7. Experience of demonstrating effective teamworking within a commercial environment.
  8. Ability to identify where problems may arise and adopt a solution-focused approach.
Job Details:
  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Up to £38,000 per year.
  • Day shift, Monday to Friday, no weekends.
  • Edinburgh: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.
