Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced CAD Design Engineer to join our team at Belcan. As a CAD Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the production of 2D and 3D drawings in line with programme and in strict adherence to customer specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure project scope is satisfied efficiently and effectively, review issued design and process documents.
  • Work alongside design engineers to ensure designs are fit for purpose and identify design solutions.
  • Work with clients and subcontractors on peer-to-peer review of project drawings and documentation against specification requirements.
  • Raise and manage technical queries through to completion.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients and suppliers.
  • Witness factory acceptance tests and project sign-off.
  • Support programming of design activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Degree, HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Strong, demonstrable understanding of all phases of a project life cycle.
  • Able to approach engineering challenges pragmatically and efficiently.
  • Able to use 2D or 3D drawing package, preferably AutoCAD.
  • Awareness of PLCs and working knowledge of principles of electrical safety, such as the 18th Edition and BS EN 13849.
