We are seeking an experienced and passionate Unit Manager to join our team at Chartwells, the leading provider of catering and support services to the education sector. As a Unit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all catering and service operations for Chartwells on a part-time basis, contracted to 26.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver high-quality food to the highest standards, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
- Supervise and lead our culinary and catering teams to achieve impeccable food and customer service standards.
- Oversee the efficiency of all in-unit catering operations, including inventory management, budget monitoring, and implementing action plans to drive sales and growth.
- Communicate effectively with your line manager to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment.
- Represent Compass Group UK&I and maintain a positive brand image, promoting our values and commitment to excellence.
- Identify opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales and growth, working closely with our culinary and service teams.
- Liaise between customers and our culinary and service teams to ensure we exceed expectations and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Support and train our teams, leading from the front to ensure everyone can excel in their role and achieve their full potential.
- Implement and review Health & Safety standards to ensure compliance across all catering and service teams, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Minimum of two years of catering experience, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional food and customer service.
- Experience managing teams in a similar role, with a strong understanding of inventory management, budgeting, and operational efficiency.
- NVQ Level 1 & 2 or City & Guilds 706/1 and 2, with a Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ambitious and motivated individual, always looking to upskill and develop their career.
