Position: Senior Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs

Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Senior Teaching Assistant to support the educational journey of students with special educational needs. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive learning environment and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate small group interventions in core subjects such as English and Mathematics, provide coverage for planned absences, and independently manage classroom instruction.
  • Oversee and guide other support staff, assist in developing lesson plans, and offer additional support to students with special needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, provide feedback on assignments, and inspire students to achieve their maximum potential.
  • Ensure student supervision during educational outings and events, participate in staff meetings, and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication abilities, capable of engaging effectively with both educators and students, alongside active listening skills.
  • Empathy, understanding, and a solid grasp of educational methodologies and curriculum standards.
  • Competence in utilizing technology and relevant software, with the capacity to perform well under pressure and adapt to evolving circumstances.
  • A professional demeanor, positive outlook, and maturity are crucial for this position.

All salary rates mentioned will include statutory holiday pay. This position may initially be temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
