We are pleased to announce an exceptional opportunity to become a part of our dedicated Head and Neck Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist team. This role involves providing care to patients primarily at two key healthcare facilities, ensuring a balanced presence at both locations.
The successful candidate will deliver specialized support and guidance to individuals diagnosed with Head and Neck Cancer, focusing on ENT patients. Collaborating closely with fellow Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialists, the role aims to offer a thorough and expert nursing service. The post holder will extend clinical knowledge and support to patients and their families throughout the entire cancer journey, from initial diagnosis to treatment, survivorship, and palliative care.
Key Responsibilities
The role entails working within the Macmillan Head and Neck Cancer CNS team to provide a specialized nursing service that supports patients and their families during their cancer care journey. Additionally, the post holder will be expected to acquire advanced knowledge and skills in Maxillofacial oncology to ensure continuity of care during periods of absence among team members.
Responsibilities include:
Offering support and information from diagnosis through treatment and ongoing care. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and participating in MDT meetings. Enhancing expertise to become a proficient practitioner in head and neck cancer and symptom management. Assessing and prioritizing patient calls, referring to specialists as necessary. Developing skills to provide holistic support addressing physical, psychological, social, and financial needs. Recognizing when to seek additional support in challenging situations beyond personal expertise. Delivering high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of patients and their families, while honoring diversity and equality. Facilitating ongoing training for healthcare professionals regarding all aspects of head and neck cancer as relevant to the role.About Our Organization
