Job Summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Coder Specialist to join our team. As a Clinical Coder Specialist, you will be responsible for abstracting and coding clinical information from patient records and other trust systems, ensuring that diagnosis, operations, and procedures are coded accurately, completely, and on a timely basis.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment, where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in clinical coding. You will work closely with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patient documentation is complete and accurate, and that coding standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Abstract and code clinical information from patient records and other trust systems
  • Ensure that diagnosis, operations, and procedures are coded accurately, completely, and on a timely basis
  • Work closely with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure that patient documentation is complete and accurate
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of clinical coding standards and guidelines
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure that coding standards are met
Requirements
  • Experience in clinical coding or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of clinical coding standards and guidelines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
