About the Role

As a key member of the Sustainable Assets Team at Great Places Housing Group, you will play a vital role in delivering our corporate plan and Sustainable Asset strategy. Your primary responsibility will be to help us achieve carbon investment improvements in a wide range of our customers' homes.

You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to improve homes, review energy component data, analyze property data, and report on energy improvements. Your goal will be to contribute to the decarbonization of Great Places Properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive carbon retrofit plan for every home, analyzing existing component data and future cynical works to create annual work programs.
  • Identify and provide solutions for potential risks to the retrofit process.
  • Collaborate with the Decarbonisation Manager in the procurement and delivery of decarbonisation retrofit projects by supporting meetings with external contractors, funding bodies, and internal colleagues to review progress against project timelines.
  • Assist in the development of projects, consulting with all stakeholders in its production and coordination.
  • Develop and maintain effective channels of communication and liaise with partners internal and external to ensure they are well-informed of progress with the project/programme.
  • Support and collaborate with colleagues in the wider directorate on relevant work and projects in sustainability.
  • Help to manage activity related to funded programs (SHDF, ECO4, HUG etc), including but not limited to raising orders, scheduling, invoice payments, and monthly progress reporting to funders.
  • Produce all necessary paperwork associated with the installation of energy-efficient measures in line with PAS2035 process.
  • Work closely with scheme retrofit co-ordinators ensuring PAS installation paperwork is provided in line with the main contract programme.
  • Undertake pre and post-works evaluations to determine the overall success and ensure that lessons are learned for future projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in a Sustainability role or similar.
  • An understanding of Energy and Carbon Performance.
  • Knowledge of building physics.
  • Experience of bid writing and/or delivery of SHDF (or similar) funding initiatives.
  • Ability to liaise and manage contractor performance.
  • Strong numerical, data analysis, and report writing skills.
  • The ability to develop and project a positive image of Great Places through personal, written, and oral skills.
  • A commitment to understanding the challenges and opportunities that exist in the communities in which we work.
  • We particularly value lived experience in social housing.
