Job Summary

Nicholas Associates is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical control systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain safety standards in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Support the delivery of operational and project electrical, control, and instrumentation engineering activities, including vendor and contractor management.
  • Conduct engineering surveys for new installations, site upgrades, and for the removal or replacement of EC&I equipment.
  • Design EC&I systems, including the associated documentation using standard software packages.
  • Prepare support documentation, training materials, and training for end users.
  • Conduct the installation and commissioning of EC&I equipment.
  • Apply software engineering across EC&I systems, including TBox programming, Pilz programming, LOWIS, network device setup, and GUIs.
  • Program, repair, and install rod pump off controllers.
  • Carry out fault-finding investigative techniques across EC&I systems and equipment.
  • Responsible for conducting maintenance and integrity activities.
Requirements
  • Qualified in Electrical/Electronic engineering or equivalent.
  • Must be willing to travel as part of the role.
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas operations and hazardous areas.
  • Engineering documentation knowledge, including block diagrams, PFDs, SLDs, P&IDs, C&E charts, schematics, wiring drawings, data sheets, and safety-critical elements.
  • Experience and the ability to design and implement industrial-based systems.
  • Experience in trouble-shooting existing installations.
  • Experience of communication devices.
  • Experience of working with various SCADA platforms, especially for the Oil & Gas industry.
  • An understanding of basic programming, scripting, and SQL database.
  • A basic understanding of cybersecurity.
