We're a dynamic and inclusive company that values our people and their contributions. We're looking for a skilled individual to join our team as a Multi-Skilled Operative at our Newbigging Sand and Gravel Quarry in Lanark, South Lanarkshire.
Role Responsibilities
As a Multi-Skilled Operative, you'll be part of a key team producing dry aggregates material for the construction industry. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working with aggregates on site and operating machinery and mobile plant, including loading shovels
- Weighbridge duties
- Loading shovel (mobile plant)
- Day-to-day maintenance of the plant, maintaining the highest levels of housekeeping
- Training and operation on static plant operations to help drive plant optimisation
- Working in a team of 5 to ensure that customers get good quality material and on-time deliveries
- Ensuring that Plant availability is maximised
- Assisting the Section Manager with meeting daily/weekly production targets
- Maintaining and driving a culture of zero harm and behavioural safety
- Compliance and awareness Health and Safety measures around the site
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for someone with proven experience working within a similar aggregates environment or an Industrial or Factory environment as an Operative or Labourer. You'll need:
- Experience working within a Health and Safety based environment
- Good timekeeping and time management essential
- Experience of operating mobile plant including Loading Shovel
- Knowledge of Risk Assessments (ideally within role of Operative)
- Be flexible and happy to work as part of an effective Multi-Skilled Operational team, adapting to different tasks within the overall team
- Be self-motivated and able to motivate colleagues within the team
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of the industry, mobile plant and quarrying preferred but not essential
- Previous experience in mobile plant operations as a Multi Skilled Operative beneficial but not essential as training will be given to the successful candidate
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Be IT literate
- Shovel Licence (preferred not essential)
