An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Communications Strategy Lead to join our dynamic in-house Communications team. In this role, you will orchestrate and execute communications initiatives aimed at customers and stakeholders through various channels.


As a key member of the Communications team, you will report to the Communications Lead and be recognized as a strong leader. We seek a creative and highly motivated individual who can quickly adapt and develop impactful, engaging communications that challenge assumptions and inspire the audience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation and execution of effective media relations and integrated external communications strategies to enhance brand visibility and recognition in key areas such as safety, sustainability, and community engagement.
  • Oversee the proactive and reactive press office, fostering robust relationships with national, regional, and local media to elevate the organization's profile while identifying potential reputational risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal branding and creative teams, as well as external design agencies, to produce new content and marketing materials.
  • Partner with the Social Media Manager to curate, share, and coordinate engaging content across social media platforms.
  • Engage in copywriting for news articles, in-depth features, case studies, campaigns, and digital content.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in public relations, communications planning, media relations, and event management, with a solid understanding of reputation and crisis management.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and accessible formats.
  • A proactive, flexible, and innovative mindset, with a strong determination to achieve results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with leadership, colleagues, and stakeholders across various sectors, demonstrating political acumen and a keen interest in energy-related issues.
  • Proficient in IT applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with Premier Pro, Adobe Audition, and Adobe Express is advantageous.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £41,000 - £47,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Annual bonus potential of up to 10% of salary.
  • 40-hour work week with a hybrid working arrangement (40% in-office).
