Our client, a leading manufacturer in defense technology, is seeking a

Mechanical

Maintenance Engineer

with a focus on

mechanical assembly

skills.

The successful candidate will be tasked with executing manufacturing, maintenance, testing, and inspection duties at the client's facility.

Candidate Requirements:


Applicants

MUST
have completed a recognized apprenticeship; those without an apprenticeship

WILL NOT
be considered.

Position Summary:


This role involves certifying products, and the individual should possess a diverse skill set to apply their expertise across various tasks, utilizing tools, gauges, and measuring instruments related to the production, repair, and modification of products to meet established standards and specifications.

Instructions for tasks will typically be provided by Engineering and may include Layouts, Schedules, and Test Specifications, as well as limited documentation sets.



Key Responsibilities:
- Familiarize with all tools, equipment, and measuring instruments used in the manufacturing process
- Certify products according to certification procedures
- Maintain product certification through regular audits
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing timelines for build, inspection, and testing
- Complete all documentation related to the manufacturing data pack
- Uphold high standards of workmanship and product quality
- Adhere to all relevant procedures associated with the manufacturing process
- Promote a safe working environment
- Implement effective housekeeping practices

Qualifications and Skills Required:

Candidates
MUST possess a formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship
- Vocational NVQ3 with Further Education, BTEC ONC/HNC
- Experience in a manufacturing or craftsman role
- Previous experience with explosives or live weaponry is advantageous; candidates with military backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Inspection experience is also beneficial
- Comprehensive live build safety training will be provided to the selected candidate.
