Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our Quality Assurance team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine analysis of raw materials and finished products to written procedures, maintaining records of results and reporting of any non-conformances for trend analysis.
- Assist with recording and investigating out-of-spec and non-conforming products.
- Carry out routine environmental monitoring, advise and support the hygiene team with cleaning practices.
- Perform any additional environmental monitoring, such as air plates, water analysis, etc., as required, responsible for reporting any non-conformances.
- Input data and results into the SAP QM system and all relevant databases in a timely manner.
- Prepare any media required within the labs.
- Register samples to be sent to External Laboratory for analysis and monitoring the results.
- Responsible for the safety, legality, and quality of all products and processes within the remit of the role. Responsible for the legal duty of care owed to employees and others.
- Provide cover as required for all 4 labs, including Microbiology, Chemical, Raw Material Intake, and Food Technology laboratories.
- Support additional tasks as requested by the Laboratory Manager or Senior QA Manager to meet and support the Quality Assurance process.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 GCSEs in Math and Science subjects or equivalent qualification in Microbiology and/or food hygiene.
- Work experience in a laboratory/food manufacturing environment. Experience gained in a frozen food manufacturing environment/QA.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer literacy, Word, and Excel.
- An effective communicator (oral and written).
- High levels of accuracy and numeracy.
- The ability to interpret and evaluate results.
- Self-motivated with practical and data rational.
- Flexible and detail-conscious.
- A team player.
- Good organization and time management skills.
