Job Title: Building Surveyor - Commercial Lead
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to lead our commercial team in the Social Housing Planned Works programs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects, managing budgets, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of commercially focused colleagues to ensure accurate cost estimation and evaluation for Social Housing Planned Works projects.
- Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure project requirements are met, and costs are controlled.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and report changes that may impact project timelines or costs.
- Prepare and manage cash flow forecasts for designated projects.
- Authorise payments to sub-contractors and liaise with contract managers to establish project specifications.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of refurbishments in a live environment, with a distinct advantage if experience is within Social Housing.
- Excellent commercial acumen, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Expertise in IT, with proficient MS Office skills.
- Full UK driving license, as travel is a requirement for this role.
- DBS check will be required.
