About the Role

We are seeking a talented engineer to join our dynamic team in Stoke on Trent. As a Cloud Engineer, you will design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure, automate workflows, and ensure cost optimization and security best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Cloud Engineering: Design and deploy cloud infrastructure, automate workflows, and ensure cost optimization and security best practices.
  2. Infrastructure Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
  3. Network Engineering: Install, configure, and manage networking hardware and software, and troubleshoot network issues and optimize performance.
  4. Security Operations Centre (SOC) Engineering: Monitor and respond to security incidents, perform vulnerability assessments, and implement cybersecurity best practices.
  5. Virtualization Engineering: Manage and optimize virtual environments, including VMware, Hyper-V, or other cloud-based systems.
  6. 2nd Line Support: Provide advanced technical support to resolve escalated issues, manage tickets, and collaborate with other teams for complex troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in one or more of the following areas: Infrastructure, Networking, SOC, Virtualization, or IT Support (2nd/3rd Line).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with relevant technologies such as Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, Linux, or security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS).
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSA, MCSE, VMware Certified Professional, or similar are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Security Clearance

Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain SC clearance, with a view to obtaining UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance as required.
