About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Manager to join our team at Mace. As a Logistics Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics functions, including forward planning, monitoring, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Logistics Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement logistics plans to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
  • Contractor Management: Monitor and report on the performance of contractors engaged in logistics activities, ensuring adherence to financial and commercial practices.
  • Communication and Liaison: Liaise with external agencies to coordinate and deconflict major logistics activities.
  • Project Management: Plan and deliver logistics projects, including the movement of offices, establishment of temporary traffic management, and logistics support to construction projects.
  • Policy Development and Maintenance: Review and maintain relevant policies, including traffic management and logistics plans, waste management plans, and environmental sustainability plans.
  • Subcontractor Reviews and KPI Monitoring: Conduct regular reviews of subcontractors and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Resource Planning and Headcount Forecasting: Develop and maintain resource plans, including headcount forecasting, to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Stores Accounting and Inventory Management: Create and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all project assets, including stores accounting and waste management.
Requirements
  • Operational Planning and Coordination: Ability to predict, assess, prioritize, and plan a diverse range of operational support functions.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including English language proficiency.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in common computer and IT applications, including Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards, including CDM, H&SAW, Fire Safety, COSHH, and DGPR.
  • Logistics and Operations Experience: Experience in a logistics or operational support role, preferably in a construction environment.
  • Certifications and Qualifications: Possession of a CSCS Card and a project management qualification, such as PRINCE2 or APM.
