Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of staff, you will work closely with teachers to provide one-on-one or group support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

About the Role:

As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to students in a classroom setting or through one-on-one interventions. You will assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND in a classroom setting or through one-on-one interventions
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of IEPs to ensure students receive the best possible support
  • Support students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student
  • Encourage student independence and confidence in their learning journey
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with SEND in a school setting (desired but not essential)
  • A genuine passion for helping students with additional needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet individual student needs
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or SEND training (preferred but not essential)
