Job Summary:

The Extracare Charitable Trust t/a Extracare Ltd is seeking a skilled Facilities Management Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our properties, providing a high level of service to our residents, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake preventive maintenance duties in the residents' apartments and communal areas, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment.
  • Manage void properties, ensuring water quality checks and general repairs are undertaken in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work with contractors on site to improve knowledge of systems and ensure they are working to risk assessments provided.
  • Record repair requests and defects, maintaining accurate records and reporting to management as necessary.
  • Attend site on a rota basis in the event of an emergency situation outside of normal working hours.
  • Provide a handy-person service for residents, including tasks such as picture hanging and assembling flat pack furniture.

Requirements:

  • A facilities background in a multi-dwelling building, with experience in maintenance and repair.
  • Flexibility to support the scheme during emergency situations and outside of normal working hours as required on a rota.
  • Ability to take responsibility for the repairs and maintenance service with your team on site.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel to maintain a system for logging maintenance requests.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work unsupervised.
  • Strong communication skills, including empathy, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Commitment to health and safety, with COSHH or IOSHH desirable.
