Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Technician to join our Infrastructure team at West Midlands Metro. As an Electrical and Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including maintenance and repair work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks on electrical and mechanical equipment, including traction power substations.
- Conduct inspections and tests to ensure compliance with planned maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with contractors to oversee planned works on electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Assist with the testing and commissioning of new systems.
- Switch electrical substations as required.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the Asset Management Information System.
- Participate in on-call duties to ensure 24/7 coverage.
Requirements
- Good working knowledge and competence in electrical systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- GCSE Maths, English, and Science at Grade C/4 or above.
- Recognized Electrical qualification at Level 3 or above.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Fully qualified to 18th Edition (Wiring regulations) and High Voltage Authorised Person training.
- IOSH certification.
