Senior Accountant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Addington Ball Recruitment Ltd. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting our Directors with day-to-day accounting operations, reviewing the work of junior accountants, and managing and providing accounting services to a portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the Directors with day-to-day accounting operations, including statutory and management accounts preparation and review.
  2. Review the work of junior accountants to ensure high-quality output.
  3. Manage and provide accounting services to a portfolio of clients, including leading meetings and providing expert advice.
  4. Prepare and review VAT returns and corporation tax computations.
  5. Perform other ad hoc accounting tasks as required.
Requirements:
  1. Qualified ACA / ICAEW, ACCA or equivalent.
  2. Previous experience working within an accountancy practice, preferably in a Client Manager, Accounts Manager, Accounting Manager, Financial Accountant, or similar role.
  3. Experience managing and providing accounting services to a portfolio of clients.
  4. Previous experience of reviewing statutory and non-statutory accounts, as well as VAT and corporation tax returns.
  5. High level of technical tax and accounting skills and knowledge.
  6. Proven track record of supporting and developing staff.
  7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all business levels.
  8. Excellent teamwork and organisational skills required.
  9. IT skills including Excel and cloud accounting software such as IRIS, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar.
