Employment Specialist

Standguide is seeking an experienced Employment Specialist to join our team. As an Employment Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with mental health support needs to secure sustainable paid employment aligned with their preferences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of clients with mental health support needs, providing person-centered advice and guidance to help them secure employment.
  • Deliver the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) approach, providing training and support to clients to help them achieve their employment goals.
  • Build positive relationships with local employers to explore job opportunities and promote the service.
  • Work with clients to understand their key skills, aspirations, and goals, and develop an action plan to help them obtain and sustain competitive employment.
  • Provide in-work support to clients and employers to help sustain employment and address any challenges that may arise.
Requirements:
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable: trained in IPS approach, understanding of the employment needs and challenges faced by people with health difficulties, experience working with people with health support needs.
  • Natural ability to build close, trusting, and productive relationships with people.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative to develop and promote a service.
