Pool Safety Officer - Leisure Centre
Location: Leisure Centre, Bromley
Job Type: Flexible Hours (Availability for early mornings, weekends, and bank holidays is essential.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain constant vigilance over pool patrons to ensure their safety at all times.
- Participate in staff training sessions as part of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
- Provide first aid, perform pool rescues, and apply resuscitation techniques when necessary.
- Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a high level of enjoyment and satisfaction in line with Customer Service Standards.
- Adhere to the facility's Health and Safety protocols in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act; conduct regular inspections and report maintenance issues through the proper channels.
- Perform cleaning tasks to maintain the highest standards of hygiene.
- Prepare activity areas by safely setting up and dismantling equipment, ensuring secure storage when not in use.
- Conduct pool water quality and environmental assessments, including spa tests if required.
- Attend regular team meetings and provide feedback to the Duty Manager regarding any operational concerns.
Qualifications:
- Ability to swim 50 meters in under 60 seconds and 100 meters continuously in both front and back strokes in deep water, along with treading water for 30 seconds.
