PROCUREMENT MANAGER

As a Procurement Manager, you will oversee designated categories and formulate global category strategies aimed at enhancing cost efficiency, streamlining the supplier base, and delivering value to the organization while minimizing risks. This role involves orchestrating and spearheading strategy execution for both Direct and Indirect expenditures. The primary focus will be on the Sugar & Sweeteners categories within the Traded Commodities Portfolio, which encompasses a range of commodity-based raw materials such as grains, edible oils, and sugar.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage global procurement activities for assigned categories.
  • Lead negotiations for procured materials and services to ensure optimal Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) encompassing Cost, Quality, Delivery, and Innovation.
  • Develop and implement strategies that ensure the lowest overall costs while mitigating risks to the organization.
  • Acquire and document comprehensive knowledge of markets, supply chains, and suppliers.
  • Assist in make-or-buy decisions.
  • Conduct formal presentations and coordinate supplier evaluations.
  • Engage in planning and forecasting processes to establish standard costs and provide insights into price variances at the divisional level.
  • Promote a high level of customer satisfaction by supporting divisional projects and requirements for purchasing guidance and leadership.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience in a Purchasing/Supply Chain environment with relevant business exposure.
  • Experience in project management and participation in large, cross-functional projects.
  • Proven track record in leading projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in managing and developing dynamic work teams.
  • Demonstrated success in major cost-saving initiatives.
  • Thorough understanding of industries relevant to assigned categories.
  • Technical knowledge in assigned categories.
  • Ability to leverage systems to maximize supplier performance and negotiating power.
  • Capability to assess and analyze moderately complex business challenges.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or other equivalent Master's Degree.
  • CPM or APICS certification.
