Job Summary:

Yorkshire Water is seeking a Trade Effluent Sampling Officer to join their team in a full-time permanent role. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting sampling and inspections of industrial discharges, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies, and generating data for enforcement actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular sampling and inspections of industrial discharges to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with customers, operational teams, and stakeholders to resolve any issues or concerns
  • Generate and analyze data to inform enforcement actions and improve water quality
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to promote compliance and improve water quality

Requirements:

  • Valid driving license
  • Proficiency in IT systems and software
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in Health and Safety management

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations
  • Experience in the water utilities industry
  • Understanding of wastewater treatment processes

Working Environment:

The successful candidate will be based in West Yorkshire and will be required to work in the Bradford area with occasional travel across the region for meetings and site visits.
