About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Consultant Psychiatrist, providing clinical leadership and expertise to our forensic mental health services. The successful candidate will have a key role in developing new models of care and operational models to transform our services across Greater Manchester.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Provide Medical Leadership: Lead multidisciplinary team meetings and provide guidance on clinical matters.
  2. Responsible Clinician: Carry out duties in accordance with the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007) and ensure compliance with the code of practice.
  3. Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and participate in the Trust's risk management processes.
  4. Medical Leadership to Inpatient Ward Team: Provide guidance and support to the inpatient ward team to ensure high-quality patient care.
  5. Communication and Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with other parts of the service, including other wards, community mental health teams, and primary care.
  6. Reports and Tribunals: Complete reports for Mental Health Tribunals with the support of the Specialty Doctor and attend tribunals or supervise other members of the medical team.
