Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Market Drayton Yogurt and Desserts

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday: 8AM - 4PM

Salary: £43,180 per annum, with paid overtime at 1.5 times the base rate

Incentive: £5,000 signing bonus for successful Multi-Skilled applicants (subject to terms and conditions)

Role Overview:

Due to internal advancement, we are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Repack & Warehouse team at the Market Drayton Dairy. The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to ensure that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards and optimized for efficiency during shifts, while delivering exceptional service regarding filling machines and process plants.

Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:

  • Maintain and enhance all plant, processes, and assets to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability
  • Conduct day-to-day maintenance and improvements of plant, assets, and services
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety standards in all tasks
  • Complete planned preventive maintenance tasks and develop improved maintenance practices
  • Diagnose and rectify equipment faults promptly to ensure smooth operations
  • Promote health and safety best practices
  • Test, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Identify and report machinery defects or signs of potential failure and provide data for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Engage with OEMs and suppliers for technical support and expedite parts procurement as necessary

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Extensive experience as a multiskilled engineer in a fast-paced, complex manufacturing or logistics environment
  • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical engineering within manufacturing, production, and process settings
  • HNC or equivalent apprenticeship training with experience in fast-moving machinery, pumps, valves, and PLCs
  • Familiarity with complex, fast-moving clean environments (24/7 - short shelf-life products)
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance methodologies
  • Effective communication skills
