Join Our Team as a Lead Digital Technical Architect

We're seeking an exceptional Lead Digital Technical Architect to help us drive innovation and make a positive impact on our planet.

This is a full-time opportunity, 37 hours per week, with the possibility of hybrid working. We're open to considering applicants who wish to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

About the Role

As our Lead Digital Technical Architect, you'll be responsible for leading the strategic thinking around future technologies and systems needed to transform our observations data estate.

You'll define, design, and support the implementation of solutions that meet Met Office needs, communicating and justifying design decisions within the context of our strategic direction.

You'll make and drive decisions, manage change, and take part in wider Met Office initiatives that affect you and the teams around you.

What We Offer

An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 27%.

Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) of £7,000 per annum, paid as a market supplement to reflect the demand for your skills.

Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years, with the option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Leadership and Governance - You'll lead and collaborate with internal and external project and delivery teams with differing degrees of maturity.
