Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Shift Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering team at our Avonmouth Bristol bakery. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximizing productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement maintenance procedures and engineering standards to ensure compliance with Hovis and legislative health and safety requirements.
  • Support Operator Maintainers in identifying and rectifying faults, and conduct 2nd line fault finding on plant upsets and equipment malfunctions.
  • Undertake corrective maintenance and bench overhaul activities as required, and review and technically validate CILTs generated by the autonomous maintenance team.
  • Provide technical support and training to Operator Maintainers on all aspects of maintenance, and initiate dynamic risk assessments.
  • Participate in PPPM's and line overhauls as requested by the Shift Manager/Engineering Lead, and record/ register stop information into the tracking system.
  • Ensure consumable spares and suitable lubricants are available to Operator Maintainer teams, and define and standardize optimum changeover processes.
  • Accountability for withdrawing stock from engineering stores.

Requirements

  • Recognized time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline with HNC/HND.
  • Demonstrable experience of maintenance within an automated FMCG/bakery environment.
  • Successfully undertaken a skills conversion program.
  • Desirable: experience of working in a bakery, basic food hygiene qualification, gas training, 17th Edition Electrical regs, and Risk Assessment & Method Statement Training.
