Job Title: Court of Protection Officer

DigiKape Resourcing is a leading recruitment agency, specialising in filling ad hoc shifts and providing temporary and permanent placements in the social care industry for both public and private sectors.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To safeguard the financial and property interests of vulnerable adults subject to the Court of Protection.
  • To act as a delegated Court Appointed Deputy, enforcing Court Orders on behalf of the Court, Local Authority, and clients.
  • To adhere to the Directions of the Court Order and meet the Local Authority Deputy Standards set by the Office of the Public Guardian, while acting in compliance with the Mental Capacity Act.
  • To liaise with the Court, Social Workers, and other Local Authority staff, HMRC, DWP, and other government bodies, and financial institutions on behalf of and in the best interest of the client.
  • To ensure COP representation at appropriate meetings in relation to individual clients and their family members.
  • To advise and explain procedures relating to deceased Clients subject to Court of Protection regarding the funeral and estate.
  • To report to Office of the Public Guardian Visiting Officers on open/active cases, provide guidance, and training to appropriate staff.
  • To carry out any other tasks reasonably required of the post holder.
  • To open Deputy bank accounts on behalf of the client, consolidate personal assets, identify and secure assets, savings, and investments.
