Mechanical Engineering Manager

Job Summary
BMR Solutions Ltd is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead our Somerset division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and empowering teams of Mechanical, Development, and Design Engineers in NPD and manufacturing equipment.
The Role
- Lead 'Mechanical Engineering' activities across projects, ensuring that the teams work cohesively and collaboratively toward successful project milestones and to completion.
- Advocate and lead best practice mechanical engineering across the projects to improve the delivery of the engineering function to time, cost, quality, and specification, while ensuring the appropriate level of effective technical governance is in place for safety, compliance, quality, and reliability.
- Ensure the mechanical engineering of product development meets requirements from stakeholders through to subsystem-level requirements, ensuring effective validation and verification plans are in place.
- Lead the mechanical engineering budgets for people and financial resources and contribute to the development of future forecasting with the Senior Engineering Manager.
The Person
- Experience of practical application of best-practice Mechanical Engineering in a relatable engineering industry.
- Significant experience working in a regulated, compliance-driven industry. Strong understanding of product safety and compliance.
- Experience of recruiting, interviewing, and hiring Mechanical Engineers both from an emerging internal talent pool as well as external for experienced hiring.
- Experience of tutoring/instructing best-practice Mechanical Engineering.
- Must have excellent influencing and negotiation skills at multiple organisational levels.
- High level of integrity and accountability with a results-driven mindset, able to set the standard, and hold people accountable to deliver.
