Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled pharmacy technician with expertise in medicines management to become a vital part of the Specialist Medicine team at Barts Health. The successful candidate will primarily operate within the Royal London Hospital while also providing support at additional facilities.
Your role will involve collaborating with the Royal London Pharmacy department and the Specialist Medicine Division to ensure the delivery of exceptional pharmaceutical care to patients, overseeing the efficient and secure distribution of medications, conducting staff training, and engaging in governance and financial assessments related to pharmaceuticals.
Main Responsibilities
Assist the Specialist Medicine Team (covering Rheumatology, Dermatology, and Gastroenterology) in guaranteeing optimal pharmaceutical care for patients, ensuring the effective and safe provision of medications, facilitating staff training, and participating in governance and financial evaluations of medicines. This includes supporting the supply chain, conducting technical reviews, monitoring medication usage, engaging with home care providers, and generating financial reports.

Education & Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences / NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, or equivalent
- Registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
- Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification
Desirable Criteria
- HEE LaSE Medicines Optimisation qualification or equivalent
Experience
Essential Criteria
- Post-qualification experience in a hospital environment
- Experience in staff education and training
- Dispensing experience
- Familiarity with pharmacy labeling and inventory control systems
