Job Summary:

FRS Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Assistant to join their finance team on a 16-month contract. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for a range of transactional finance duties, including assisting the Head of Finance with month-end reporting and supporting the preparation of management accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Finance in the preparation of the Management Accounts, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Prepare and post month-end journals, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Support the preparation of month-end sales analysis and compare to forecast, providing insightful analysis to inform business decisions.
  • Ensure the Sage Sales Price List is accurately updated and correct, maintaining compliance with company policies.
  • Raising Purchase orders, ensuring sales are properly recorded and reconciled, and booking goods in, maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Posting company credit card and petty cash spend to nominal ledger, ensuring reconciles and accurate financial reporting.
  • Providing cover for Sales Ledger as and when required, including experience of Credit Control, which would be ideal but not essential.
  • Raising despatch notes as required, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods.
  • Daily update of the cashflow forecast, providing proactive financial management and support.
  • Setting up new starters on clocking system, ensuring seamless onboarding and integration into the team.
  • Provide support for the Head of Purchasing, assisting with analysis or PO raising as required, maintaining effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Experience of Sage and MS Excel, with a strong understanding of financial software and systems.
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong sense of urgency and priority.

What We Offer:

A competitive salary of between £26,000 to £28,500, depending on experience, and a range of benefits and opportunities for professional development and growth.
