About the Role:

Galliford Try is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities Management team in Gateshead. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for attending and carrying out planned and reactive tasks across our contract estate of schools, including fabric tasks such as internal door, external doors, plasterboard, and IPS cubicle repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend and carry out planned and reactive tasks across the contract estate of schools
  • Attend all jobs issued, including non-fabric tasks such as basic plumbing repairs and electrical works, for which you have the necessary skills and knowledge to undertake
  • Fabric tasks such as internal door, external doors, plasterboard, and IPS cubicle repairs
  • Undertake all tasks as directed by the Management team and Helpdesk, in accordance with GTFM, client, and site policies and contract procedures
  • Use a portable electronic device (phone/tablet) to receive and update all tasks in a timely manner and with contract SLAs
  • Be part of an On Call rota, as well as working core hours
  • Use a company vehicle and fuel card for traveling while on GTFM business
  • Adhere to task instructions and Risk Assessment control measures, and complete work to current legislative standards and best industry standards
  • Act in a courteous and respectful manner when working for Galliford Try
  • Attend Tool-Box-Talks, training, and meetings as directed by management

About You:

  • Desirable FM experience in an educational setting
  • A clean driving license is required for this role
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Good Written/Verbal communication skills
  • An adaptable and flexible approach to work requirements and willingness to accept change
