Design and Estimating Engineer Job Description

Job Title: Design and Estimating Engineer

Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE

Omega Resource Group Careers is seeking a highly skilled Design and Estimating Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and costing complex fire, life safety, electronic security systems, and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to understand customer requirements and progress sales enquiries and tenders.
  • Design various life safety and security systems, as well as integrated building systems, based on customer specifications, drawings, and current standards.
  • Prepare proposals, quotations, and tender documents, ensuring they are completed on time and meet company standards.
  • Assess risk factors influencing security and fire design, making recommendations to enhance or communicate with clients.
  • Ensure quotations and system design specifications comply with technical and regulatory standards and Codes of Practice.
  • Review changes in customer specifications and modify designs accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of fire, life safety, and electronic security systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and ability to design complex systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
