Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Neighbourhood Enforcement Officer to join our team at Service Care Solutions Ltd. As a key member of our housing enforcement team, you will be responsible for enforcing housing legislation and providing high-quality, customer-focused service.
The Role
- Conduct thorough housing inspections to ensure compliance with relevant housing legislation and regulations.
- Provide expert technical and legislative advice on housing standards to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Liaise with tenants, landlords, and other relevant bodies to ensure enforcement actions are understood and implemented.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, investigations, and compliance meetings.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop effective community partnerships and improve neighbourhood conditions.
- Assist in the review and interpretation of statutory regulations and national guidelines.
- Contribute to community safety priorities and improve neighbourhood conditions in line with our vision.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, ideally within housing enforcement, compliance, or regulatory work. A strong understanding of housing legislation and an ability to build relationships with both tenants and landlords is essential.
- Previous experience working in local government or public sector housing services.
- In-depth knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) or willingness to obtain this qualification.
- Familiarity with issues affecting private sector housing tenants and owners.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple caseloads effectively.
- Experience with IT systems and software applications related to housing services.
- Knowledge of building construction and safety standards is an advantage.
