Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic financial reporting and analysis group at Reinsurance Group of America Inc. As a key contributor to our team, you will be responsible for producing and analyzing financial reports, communicating with various stakeholders, and maintaining excellent relationships with our business partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Perform Solvency II and IFRS 17 reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Valuation and Analysis: Conduct US GAAP, US Statutory, and US Tax valuation for life and annuity reinsurance, as well as perform and/or review the implementation of actuarial models into our financial reporting platform.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a liaison with other lines of business and company functions/departments to promote improvement in valuation and financial analysis for assigned business.
  • Governance and Control: Enhance and support governance activities and the control infrastructure, ensuring effective risk management and compliance.
  • Actuarial Assumptions: Develop experience monitoring tools, review actuarial assumptions, and make recommendations on assumption updates as needed.
  • Documentation and Projections: Maintain and enhance documentation, develop projections for financial planning and analysis, and investigate major drivers of variance.
  • Value Measures: Support the calculation and reporting of value measures, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Mentorship and Development: Mentor associates and provide guidance on associate development, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Perform valuation work and ad-hoc department projects as needed and called upon, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Requirements
  • Actuarial Qualifications: Fellow of Institute of Actuaries or equivalent (or near Fellow)
  • Actuarial Experience: 6+ years of actuarial experience in life insurance/reinsurance
  • Technical Skills: PC and technical skills, including spreadsheets, actuarial software (Prophet, AXIS, or equivalent), data analytics tools (Alteryx, Tableau, or equivalent), and database applications (Access, SQL, Snowflake or equivalent)
  • Insurance Financial Metrics: Advanced understanding of insurance financial metrics and analysis techniques
  • Actuarial Assumptions: Advanced understanding of actuarial assumptions and experience analysis methods
