About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Support Manager to lead and direct system and database management processes within the Orpington Maintenance Delivery Unit and branching depots.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage, coordinate, and validate the upgrade, update, maintenance, and utilisation of all systems and databases within the delivery unit.
  • Provide direction and support, including briefings on the use of systems and databases within the delivery unit.
  • Manage the collation of information from the delivery unit team and third parties, ensuring systems and databases are updated to provide accurate information at all times.
  • Manage data quality within systems and databases to meet corporate requirements.
  • Manage the integrated risk management process, maintaining and updating the Active Risk Manager Database.
  • Resolve issues that adversely affect the effective performance of systems and databases.
  • Monitor, audit, and report on the accuracy, receipt, and updating of data.
  • Provide information to support delivery of business plans and improvement initiatives and project works.
  • Provide analysis and management reports as required to support maintenance delivery, making recommendations where management action is required.
  • Accurately update systems, databases, and records as required, including the Hazard Directory.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

This is an exciting opportunity to work on many infrastructure enhancement projects, including the final phase of Victoria Re-signalling and data quality improvement projects, as well as working in an interesting geographical area ranging from inner London urban areas to Hastings / mid Kent more rural areas.

As a Systems Support Manager, you will work with and support numerous colleagues in their use of Network Rail maintenance systems, ranging from front-line colleagues to senior leaders, and become the subject matter expert in these systems for the Delivery Unit.

Using your analysis skills, you will correct any data anomalies within the asset and maintenance information, complying with the necessary Network Rail Standards.

This role offers a number of opportunities to expand and broaden your knowledge of the railway, asset, and maintenance data, as well as the ability to further enhance and develop data quality reporting and maintenance planning within the asset systems, working alongside multi-disciplinary functions such as signalling, track, off-track, and telecoms.
