Progresso Search is collaborating with a prominent multinational organization in the Renewable Energy sector, based in London, to identify a skilled Lead Financial Strategist to enhance their finance division.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the statutory financial reporting process, ensuring timely submission of all entity accounts to regulatory bodies. Ensure adherence to accounting standards (IFRS and UK GAAP).
  • Cultivate the relationship with joint venture partners, spearheading financial disclosures for quarterly board sessions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for both internal and external auditors, addressing any concerns that arise.
  • Supervise the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting cycles, guaranteeing compliance with all internal and external timelines.
  • Manage VAT and Duty calculations to be provided to external consultants for HMRC submissions.
  • Evaluate current accounting methodologies and drive enhancements in monthly and quarterly reporting processes.
  • Proactively track cash flow across all assets to ensure sufficient liquidity, particularly concerning debt obligations and liquidity forecasting.
  • Facilitate the transformation of accounting and financial reporting during planning and execution phases.
  • Champion the integration of new standards and oversee their proper application. Management Information responsibilities.
  • Present critical information to senior leadership, emphasizing key insights and ensuring that essential control functions (monitoring manufacturing operations, logistics, customer profitability, product costing) are accurate and relevant.
  • Supervise and manage foreign exchange exposure, collaborating with the board and head office to effectively manage and hedge relevant risks.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a degree and possess ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent) professional accounting certification;
  • Previous experience in the renewable energy or energy sector;
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency with a solid understanding of IFRS, UK GAAP, and financial principles;
  • Exhibit strong leadership capabilities and provide clear direction;
  • Seek opportunities to enhance performance and processes as necessary;
  • Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
