As an apprentice, you will receive a salary while pursuing a professional qualification, fully funded by our organization. Role Overview:

In this position, you will acquire hands-on experience in Quantity Surveying while working towards a BSc (Hons) in Surveying at a leading university. Upon completing your degree, we will assist you in achieving Chartered membership with RICS. You will play a vital role in delivering professional surveying services, learning from seasoned professionals both on-site and in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visit construction sites with experienced colleagues to conduct surveys, inspections, and participate in project discussions.
  • Assist in preparing reports, contract documents, and specifications.
  • Support the development of estimates and cost plans by generating quantities for measurement software.
  • Help with tender preparation and review received tenders.
  • Assist in managing handovers, including checking snagging and validating documentation.
  • Review site valuations to assess progress against contract sums and project cash flow.
  • Provide support in basic contract administration tasks, including change control and cost reporting.
  • Conduct design checks related to funding and client requirements.
  • Evaluate sites to identify and document risks, reporting findings to senior colleagues.
  • Maintain tracker documents to monitor progress on various contractual matters.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and third parties, assisting senior team members with inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) with grades C+ or 4+, including English and Maths.
  • 112 UCAS Tariff points at level 3 (preferably including a maths-related subject) or an Advanced Diploma in a construction-related field.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of building construction or a strong desire to learn.
  • Willingness to gain knowledge of standard contract forms, including the JCT suite.
  • Possession of a UK driving license and access to transportation.
