Job Title: Senior EC&I Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior EC&I Engineer to join our team at Scantec Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Graduate EC&I Engineers and Designers, overseeing the development and management of control system designs, and ensuring the successful delivery of project goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Graduate EC&I Engineers and Designers, providing technical oversight and guidance.
  • Develop and manage control system designs, ensuring they meet project deadlines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
  • Take responsibility for meeting project deadlines and quality benchmarks.
  • Produce and manage CE&I design concepts, including SLD's, BCD's, cable schedules, and layouts.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of control system hardware and software.
  • Apply expertise in Functional Safety (BSEN 61508 & to produce designs adhering to British and European standards.
  • Maintain LTQR / Technical File in line with Quality Management Systems.
  • Manage subcontract suppliers and oversee the creation of CE&I technical specifications and commissioning documentation (FAT, SAT).
  • Interpret and create EC&I engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Author engineering reports, including basis of design, substantiation report, and calculation reports.
  • Experience in HVAC control systems is highly desirable.
  • Consolidate and present design and engineering documentation for internal and client approvals.
  • Support tender and contract reviews with informed technical and commercial information.
  • Identify modifications to the scope of work and assist in estimating cost and contract variations.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree, HNC, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Senior Engineer role within a highly regulated industry.
  • Experience across all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Expertise in the design of electrical systems, low voltage control gear, and control systems.
  • Membership of a relevant technical/professional body.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace.
  • Chartered Engineering Degree.
  • Understanding of drawing principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of Machine Safety Directives, functional safety, and HAZOP/HAZID.
  • Awareness of industry standards including IEC7671, IEC61508 & ATEX intrinsic safety.
  • Ability to author technical documentation and produce design deliverables.
