Key Responsibilities:
  • Cost Estimation and Budgeting: Assist the commercial team in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects.
  • Quantity Take-Offs and BOQ Preparation: Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities (BOQ) for materials, labor, and other project costs.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Assist in the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers, and materials, ensuring compliance with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
  • Financial Control and Accuracy: Monitor and track project costs, including variations, change orders, and progress payments, to ensure financial control and accuracy.
  • Contract Negotiation and Valuation: Collaborate with the project team to review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, and assist in the valuation of works and certification of payments.
  • Site Visits and Inspections: Participate in site visits and inspections to assess progress, quality, and compliance with specifications, identifying any potential issues or variations.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to quantity surveying activities, including contracts, correspondence, and financial reports.
Requirements:
  • Qualification: Qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a construction-related field.
  • Analytical and Numerical Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to perform accurate calculations and cost analysis.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with quantity surveying software and tools.
  • Adaptability and Proactivity: A proactive and adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Driving Licence: Relevant driving licence.
