Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our Residential Children's Services team at Headway Adolescent Resources. As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the needs of young people in our care are met and providing a positive and safe living experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of Residential Support Workers to provide high-quality childcare and ensure the Home runs efficiently and effectively.
  • Work on shift to safeguard young people and create a homely environment, taking into account their views, wishes, and feelings.
  • Deliver supervision to Residential Support Workers in accordance with company policy.
  • Comply with the Company's Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
  • Support effective multi-agency working and positive relationships with staff, the local community, and other professional agencies.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of young people's Plans and support the reviewing and monitoring process.
  • Play an active part in promoting and encouraging the participation of young people in decision-making processes.
  • Comply with legislation and company policies on Health & Safety, Fire, and Data Protection.

Essential Skills

  • Good overall standard of education.
  • Working towards or hold a Level Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Child Care legislation, children's home regulations, and quality standards.
  • Previous experience of working directly with young people with challenging behavior.
  • Good report writing and numeracy skills, well-organized with good administration skills, and IT literate.
  • Able to relate to young people with empathy and committed to a high standard of childcare.
  • Strong motivational, management, and leadership potential.
