Teaching Opportunity in Design Technology and Food

New Directions Education is working with a reputable Secondary School in Salford to find a skilled and enthusiastic Teacher of Design Technology and Food. This long-term role will commence after the October half-term and continue until July.

We are seeking a strong and dedicated Teacher of Design Technology and Food who can deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome, and induction support will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
  • Plan, prepare, and teach lessons catering to diverse student ability ranges
  • Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, including overseeing parent-teacher conferences
  • Be flexible, creative, and ambitious in teaching approaches
  • Deliver lessons to groups of students from various abilities and age groups, tailored to their educational needs
