We're looking for a proven leader with a strong track record in aircraft certification, ideally with experience in general aviation, small business jets, or rotorcraft.


Role Overview:

As Chief of the Office of Airworthiness (COOA), you'll oversee all airworthiness approvals for airframe and engine certification, initially in the UK, with global expansion to 50+ countries.


This is a leadership role in a dynamic, fast-growing startup, perfect for someone eager to escape the corporate side of aerospace.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the airworthiness team, managing aircraft and engine certification programs.
  • Act as Chief of the Office of Airworthiness per UK CAA Part 21J regulations.
  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies (CAA, FAA, EASA).
  • Ensure the effectiveness of design and production handbooks and procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to execute testing, validation, and certification plans.
  • Provide Part 21 training and advise on safety and airworthiness.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience as COOA or a senior airworthiness role in an OEM.
  • Expertise in UK CAA and/or EASA Part 21J regulations for aircraft and engine certification.
  • Qualified to hold a UK CAA Form 4 role.
  • Ready to lead and build an airworthiness team in a fast-growing startup.
