Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the design, development, and testing of innovative X-Ray and Bond Test products. Your expertise will contribute to the advancement of our existing product range and the creation of new solutions that meet evolving market demands.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the design and implementation of electrical support systems for X-Ray and Bond Test machinery, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Develop detailed documentation for electrical panels, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and general machine wiring, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Contribute to basic mechanical design aspects related to the electro-mechanical components of machines, integrating electrical systems seamlessly with mechanical structures.
  • Conduct practical prototyping of electrical and electronic circuits, validating designs and identifying potential improvements.
  • Manage and maintain accurate documentation for electrical bills of materials, ensuring efficient procurement and assembly processes.
  • Support the ongoing improvement and optimization of existing product designs, enhancing functionality and addressing customer feedback.

Qualifications

  • Possess a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent experience through proven industry achievements.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience designing electrical/electronic systems within an industrial setting, with a focus on automation and control systems.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of electromechanical system design principles, having worked on projects involving robotics, production automation, or similar applications.
  • Exhibit proven success working collaboratively as part of a team on medium to large-scale engineering projects, contributing effectively to shared goals.
  • Possess extensive experience in designing electrical panels for industrial systems, including circuit breakers, contactors, and other essential components.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of wiring loom design and specification for electrical machinery, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Be proficient in using CAD software, preferably AutoCAD, Inventor, or Cadstar, to create detailed electrical schematics and designs.
  • Demonstrate strong practical electrical/electronic skills for prototyping and testing purposes, ensuring the functionality and reliability of designs.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant electrical safety standards (IEC61010, NPA79, etc.) to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Be a proactive team player with a strong problem-solving mindset, able to identify challenges and contribute to effective solutions.
