Logistics Operations Supervisor
Wotton, Surrey - own transport is required due to the site rural location
Azenta Life Sciences is dedicated to the design and production of high-quality consumables and sealing solutions tailored for molecular biology.

The Logistics Operations Supervisor will oversee the effective management and control of the logistics operations while achieving set budgetary and service targets.

This role is crucial in delivering a reliable service to clients while ensuring compliance with all legal standards.

Key responsibilities include organizing the safe and efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials, goods, and products to support business functions and meet customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary representative for logistics during the transition to the new Oracle MRP/ERP System
  • Ensure a streamlined logistics operation capable of meeting operational and customer demands
  • Foster a safe working environment by adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental protocols, ensuring team understanding and compliance
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods
  • Promote a zero-tolerance approach to deviations from quality processes to guarantee complete customer satisfaction
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of all inventory transactions while maintaining comprehensive records of stockroom locations
  • Anticipate future capacity needs
  • Ensure the accuracy and relevance of all documentation related to goods in and out, including proper labeling of stock items
  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and advocate for necessary changes
  • Optimize warehouse space utilization, including layout planning and future capacity considerations
  • Develop and maintain metrics/KPIs, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and training and safety records
  • Establish policies and procedures for logistics activities, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards aligned with quality systems
  • Continuously explore methods to enhance efficiency, add value, and reduce costs while implementing ongoing improvement initiatives
  • Create and enforce best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a logistics supervisory or managerial role is essential
  • In-depth knowledge of logistics policies and procedures
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff
  • Demonstrated supervisory and management skills with effective leadership qualities
  • Knowledge of quality, health, and safety standards
  • Skills in training, organizing, and planning
