Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cell and Molecular Biologist to join our Research and Development team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mammalian cell biology and experience in designing, developing, and testing novel technologies and analytical platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to drive forward Touchlight's new DNA technologies
  • Develop and maintain R&D cell assays/platforms to support the characterization and advancement of Touchlight's DNA technologies
  • Optimize the performance of our genetic platforms through molecular and cell culture improvements
  • Test, validate, and enhance Touchlight's new and emerging platforms in clinically relevant cell types
  • Characterize the biological responses to our proprietary DNA molecules in primary cells
  • Record, analyze, and communicate experimental findings in electronic laboratory notebooks and presentations
Requirements
  • PhD qualification or equivalent relevant industry experience within the Life Science sector
  • Agile and strongly analytical mindset
  • Collaborative and highly adaptable, with a willingness to research and discuss novel scientific ideas and solutions
  • Exceptional attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills
  • Strong experience with culturing challenging mammalian cell types, preferably immune cells like primary human T cells
  • Demonstrated knowledge in mammalian cell manipulation and analysis techniques, including chemical transfection and electroporation, immunostaining, flow cytometry, and associated data analysis
  • Experience with DNA manipulation and analysis via PCR, gel electrophoresis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven hands-on ability in solving molecular biology problems
  • Knowledge of a wide range of techniques for DNA assembly, including InFusion and Golden Gate cloning
  • Familiarity and preferably hands-on experience with genome engineering approaches such as CRISPR
