JOB OBJECTIVE:

  • As a vital member of the Engineering Service Support Team, you will engage in Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks, provide recommendations, participate in a team of engineers on a callout schedule, and manage machine upkeep in alignment with customer specifications.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Execute all elements of planned preventative maintenance and propose enhancements.
  • Fulfill scheduled service commitments.
  • Uphold the safety and welfare of yourself and others, adhering to relevant Health & Safety regulations.
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, along with necessary repairs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to foster innovation and enhancements.
  • Ensure prompt and accurate incident/accident reporting. Learn from occurrences and devise strategies to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage time effectively and prioritize workload efficiently.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • City and Guilds or equivalent recognized apprenticeship (preferably with an electrical focus).
  • Engineering experience in a comparable environment, including parcel handling and FMCG/manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with inverter drives, SCADA control, profibus, Asi, and PC/PLC control is advantageous.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven track record of meeting contractual obligations, PM schedules, and KPIs.
  • Experience in delivering services in environments with robust permit-to-work systems.
  • Extensive background in managing and implementing improvements through supply chain engineering service contracts.
  • Strong written communication skills, along with effective presentation and report writing abilities.
  • Capability to advise, negotiate, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactively implements best practices and continuously seeks to enhance service delivery, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to ensuring all service commitments are met to agreed standards and deliver value for money.
  • Ability to cultivate effective working relationships with colleagues and external clients.
  • High self-motivation, organizational skills, and a drive to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks for both oneself and the team.
  • Technically adept in all relevant distribution/sortation systems.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • A motivated and versatile engineer, capable of working independently and taking initiative.
  • Proficient in PC use with strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Excellent time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with customers, employees, and teams at all levels.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with key clients.
