Job Title: 1:1 Science Tutor

Are you passionate about science and dedicated to helping students succeed? GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced 1:1 Science Tutor to join our team at our school in Barnsley.

Job Summary:
  • Evaluate the student's current level of understanding in science and identify areas where they need additional support.
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure seamless communication and support.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one science tutoring to students in Year 6 transitioning to Year 7, focusing on building a strong foundation in science.
  • Assist Year 10 and Year 11 students in preparing for their GCSEs, helping them to achieve their full potential.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Contribute to the overall ethos, work, and aims of the school, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent tutoring qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge in science, with the ability to teach across different levels.
  • Experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably with secondary school students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.

Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
